Kate Middleton Stunned in Her Shortest Hairstyle Yet... But Is It an Actual Chop?

Relax: we have all the answers.

By Jenny Berg

When Kate Middleton stepped out to a Remembrance Day event in London on November 12, the royal mama looked perfectly polished (as always!) in a Dolce & Gabbana suit. But, fans noticed something new under her ravishing Philip Treacy hat. The Duchess' famous locks looked shorter than ever, prompting a very important question: did Middleton chop off her hair? Cue furrowed brows everywhere.

As it turns out, not as such. The mental-health advocate was simply testing out a new look — and this one didn't require any scissors. According to multiple reports, Middleton's "fake bob" was achieved by curling her wavy lengths into tight curls, then strategically tucking and pinning her hair to create the style. And, if you ask us, the overall effect was very Hitchcock-chic. Are we the only ones getting Grace Kelly hair vibes here?

Middleton isn't the only style star who's gone lob for a day. At an October screening for All I See is You, Blake Lively tucked her long tresses to similar effect. And, Real Housewives of Orange County pal Tamra Judge wore a fake lob for a Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen appearance back in July. (Way to stay ahead of the beauty-trends curve, Tamra!)

We tend to be a bit commitment-phobic when it comes to hairstyles, so we can totally get behind this trend of test driving different looks. Just don't make us decide whether Kate Middleton looks better with long hair or short hair. We'd be here debating until her third baby arrives in April.
