Katy Perry Says: "Help Me!" In This Hilarious BTS Video From Her 'Vogue' Shoot
The singer wanted out of that giant, black... thing.
Vogue is having a pop-music moment, and we are totally here for it. After Selena Gomez graced the cover of its April issue, the glossy tapped Katy Perry to appear on its May cover. And—since this is Vogue—don't expect to see Katy wearing candy bras and cherry-print dresses inside its pages.
Instead, you may see something a little less cutesy and more, well, scary. In a behind-the-scenes video that she shared from her cover shoot, Katy playfully mouths "help me" while she stands in an abstract, black garment that makes her look like a super hot Teletubby. Can you see it?
Katy's deadpan expression, mixed with the haunting opera score, makes this our favorite mock horror film ever. She does look seriously gorgeous, though.
The star is actually wearing a style from Comme des Garcons, which is headed by the uber elusive and mysterious Rei Kawakubo. Rei will be the honored designer at the upcoming Met Gala, which Katy will co-chair with Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour.
In the article that accompanies the spread—you can peep some of it here—Katy actually gets serious about Comme des Garcons, noting: "These clothes, honestly, are walking pieces of art. It’s the redefinition of sex; the sex of the mind.” We can't wait to see what she wears to the May 1 gala!
