Kelly Ripa Takes Divorce Dig At a Shocked Michael Strahan On Air

The co-hosts clearly are not the best of friends.

Kelly Ripa may make Michael Strahan squirm in his seat until he leaves Live with Kelly and Michael  on May 13.

The talk host, married for 20 years to Mark Consuelos, finished up her week back by taking a dig at her co-host’s two divorces.

During the opening chat she turned to him and said, “There’s a great article in the paper and I want to get your take on it because I don’t have a take on it. But I want yours. So you’ve gotten divorced …”

Michael looked shocked, then annoyed at the word “divorce.” He was married to Wanda Hutchins from 1992 to 1996, and Jean Muggli from 1999 to 2006, which ended up being splashed all over the news when it ended.

Kelly then talked about the latest divorce trend of birdnesting, where kids of divorce live in one home and their parents rotate in and out. Michael didn’t like the idea.

The former NFL star is leaving the chat show months earlier than planned to head to Good Morning America as a host. He and Kelly have been tense off air since she took days off following his announcement, which she felt blindsided her.

Anderson Cooper is said to be at the top of the list as a possible replacement for Michael. He appeared on Watch What Happens Live Thursday, alongside his mother Gloria Vanderbilt, and addressed the matter.

"Listen, I love Kelly and I think that show is, Kelly is the heart and soul of that show and it’s going to go on and continue to be great and I wish Michael the best in his new endeavor," he said, without actually saying if he'd take the job if it was ever offered to him. "Look, I’m very happy at CNN. Um, you know, it would be a dream to work with Kelly but nobody’s offering anything."
