Lady Gaga is engaged to marry her talent agent Christian Carino, who she's been publicly dating since February. A source told US Weekly that the engagement between the 31-year-old singer and 48-year-old agent took place over the summer but has subsequently been kept under wraps as she has been battling health issues related to her fibromyalgia that forced the postponement of her European tour.
Another possible reason for being lowkey about the big news: She admitted in her revealing Netflix documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two that she tends to correlate professional successes with personal losses.
“I’m always at a shoot with some fucking great news, and my love life’s imploded,” she lamented to creative director Brandon Maxwell in the film. “It’s a sad day when I’m doing the Super Bowl and, like, I’m so excited to do it but I can’t help but realize that when I sold 10 million records, I lost Matt [Williams],” she says. “I sold 30 million, I lose Luc [Carl]. I get the movie [A Star Is Born], I lose Taylor [Kinney]. It’s like a turnover. This is the third time I’ve had my heart broken like this."
And hopefully the last.
