Baby or burrito?

Oh no, a new game show in the Netherlands is asking contestants to guess whether a woman is fat or pregnant.

The show, called “Neem Je Zwemspullen Mee” or “Bring Your Bathing Suit,” aired its first episode already, but is getting tons of backlash based on the premise. It’s as bad as you think. There is a rotating podium in the middle of the studio where is woman is directed to stand. Four men contestants are then asked whether they think the woman is carrying a baby or if she’s a little overweight as she spins around like a rotisserie chicken. Gross.

Another segment of the show has contestants guess where woman’s breasts were real or fake.

Twitter went nuts, calling the show sexist and disgusting.

One user tweeted that the show was classless.

An online petition was started to get the show of the air, reading:

“KRO-NCRV decided that the budget of public broadcasting can be best spent to be downgraded to a game involving women as pieces of meat… The program is thus suggesting that it is okay to shamelessly to assess a person’s body.”

But the production company that created the show released a statement defending the program, saying: “This satirical setting is a way to laugh off all kinds of prejudices.”
