Oprah Reveals the Place You Should Go to "Expand" Yourself, Where the "People Are 100 Percent Present"
If you're reading this, it's a sign.
When you're looking for a bit of help in your self-actualizing journey, you turn to Oprah Winfrey. When Oprah is looking for a kickstart in that regard, she knows just where to find it (after a rather long airplane flight).
The superstar spent a considerable amount of time in New Zealand while filming A Wrinkle in Time (Disney's reboot of the crazy-popular YA fantasy novel from decades past, with Ava DuVernay as director), alongside Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling.
And turns out, she developed a serious affinity for the country, and she told Vogue she absolutely can't wait to get back to a place she holds in such high esteem for its authenticity as well as for its natural beauty.
“I am telling you: If you want to expaaand yourself as an individual on the planet Earth, New Zealand’s the place to go," she said to Vogue. "The people are 100 percent present. They are not walking across the street on their cellphones."
Beyond that, she noted the stunning landscape, flora, and fauna in the country. "Every single corner you turn, there is some breathtaking something or other going on," she said. "Lakes! Glaciers! Eagles! It’s crazy.”
And then there's the fact that New Zealand might have some unspecified metaphysical power. When interviewer Jonathan Van Meter notes that Oprah is the third person in the span of a week to bring up the country to him, Oprah replies: “Do you believe in signs? Have I taught you nothing? All these years? Of course it’s a sign!”
