Don't Get Her Lingerie! Your Woman Wants Something *Comfortable* and Luxurious for Valentine's Day

If the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, the way to a woman's heart is through a pair of comfy sweats.

By Talia Ergas

Let’s start with a fact: Lingerie is never a gift for the wearer. It is always a gift for the partner of the wearer. While your lady may act polite unwrapping a lacy teddy, trust me on this one: She's disappointed.

What does your lady really want for Valentine's Day? Repeat after me: something COMFORTABLE. If the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, the way to a woman's heart is through a pair of comfy sweats. Now, since it's Valentine's Day, I implore you not to put a pair of Adidas training pants in a gift bag. That’s not a good gift. But an incredibly soft and stylish lounge set made from organic cotton and bamboo? A two-piece pajama set with her initials monogrammed on the cuff? That's a truly impressive gift that may even earn you a little lingerie time later.

Guys, if you stumbled upon this article because your S.O. shared it or tagged you, you may officially take this as a (major) hint. And on that note … Ahead, you'll find five comfortable, yet super luxurious Valentine's Day gifts that you absolutely can't go wrong with. They'll set you back just the right amount to say "you're very important to me," while still leaving enough funds for a romantic dinner.

And if you're still dreaming of your lady in a little negligee, perhaps you could consider asking for that as her Valentine's Day gift to you.

The Perfect Lounge Set

I got this set as a birthday gift from my boyfriend and I can't imagine any lady being any less thrilled than I was to receive it. When it comes to clothes made for wearing mostly around the house, Thirdlove's selection is next-level. I promise you won't find a chicer way to be insanely comfortable. Not only is the blend of organic cotton and breathable bamboo incredibly soft, but it's also totally appropriate for a quick run to the corner store.

The best part of this set is the mix-and-match-ability. I own the black version (it also comes in a sweet ballet slipper pink) and while the separates do look great together, I often find myself pairing the pants or top with other pieces in my closet for an even greater outfit variety.

The Perfect Pajama Set

I'm a sucker for anything that can be monogrammed — and I know I'm not alone here. There's just something about receiving a gift that already has your initials stitched into it ... it feels so well thought-out (and careful planning is definitely a sexy quality). If you're going to invest in a pair of these for your special someone, I highly recommend going the extra mile (for a mere $7!) and adding her initials to the cuff.

Also well thought-out: the fact that this Piu X Kassatex pajama set is housed inside a matching pillowcase. That's the kind of luxury you get when French loungewear experts are involved in the design process.

But about the way it feels ... in a word, amazing. The two-piece bamboo-blend outfit — which also comes in white, navy, and blue — manages to be cool to the touch and thicker than most PJs at the same time. So, you'll stay nice and toasty, but you won't sweat in them. (A note on the fit: the bottoms can run a bit snug, so size up if in between sizes.)

The Perfect Lounge Jumpsuit

Ultra comfort meets fashion-forwardness in this jumpsuit that was just made for Sunday lounging. (Seriously, it's slated to be my weekend brunch uniform from now on.) Crafted by charitable fashion brand n:Philanthropy, this slouchy one-piece has the label's signature collar tear that celebrities from Jessica Biel to Ashley Graham to Gal Gadot are obsessed with. And while the not-so-basic basic (also available in gray) is totally comfortable enough to take a little afternoon snooze in, it's so stylish that it barely even qualifies as loungewear.

But what really sets this jumpsuit apart — and it's totally in-line with the Valentine's Day theme — is that the brand behind it has a *huge* heart. Ten percent of proceeds from all n:Philanthropy sales go to pediatric cancer research and the ASPCA. So you can show a little love to your honey, and to those in need.

The Perfect Athleisure Outfit

An athleisure favorite among stars such as Kaley Cuoco, Emmy Rossum, and Olivia Culpo, Alo Yoga is top-notch when it comes to fitness-wear that is both functional and stylish. This rosy duet, which consists of a moisture-wicking pullover and ultra-flattering high-waist leggings, even takes the style aspect to a whole other level. Sure, she'll turn heads at the gym in this stunning set — but she'll also be best-dressed at the juice bar post-workout.

Unlike the other comfy outfits listed here, these two pieces are sold separately, so be sure to add both to your virtual cart.

The Perfect Bathrobe

As far as bathrobes are concerned, this is the Rolls-Royce. (Luckily for you, though, it rings in at a much more affordable pricepoint.) In fact, this bathrobe is held in such high regard, that when cult-favorite bedding brand Parachute first released it, there was a 2,000 person waiting list to go through before you could even get one. Thankfully there are now plenty to go around, so if you're picking one up for your lady, you may just want to snatch a second up for yourself as well.

Here's why: Crafted from 100 percent Turkish cotton, the slouchy robe (also available in a charcoal hue) is about as soft as robes come, while still being super absorbant and quick-drying. It's the same fabric that is used in Parachute's classic bath towels, which are pretty much the very best on the market. And if something a bit lighter is more your style, may I suggest the brand's waffle robes, which come in tan and a heathered gray.

The Perfect Cozy Slippers

Here at Most Wanted, we love a good fashion item that's borrowed from the boys. Though technically made for men, wearing these adorable Sherpa booties is akin to sliding your feet into a pair of fluffy clouds — so us ladies want in, too! (Just keep the menswear aspect in mind when choosing a size: A men's size 7 is roughly equivalent to a women's size 8.5.) The best part of these ultra cozy slippers is the unbeatable pricepoint — they're currently on sale for $19.99! — so they're the perfect addition to any of the comfy outfit options above.
