Madonna has filed for the adoption of two more children from Malawi, and appeared before a High Court judge in the capital Lilongwe on Wednesday to complete the application to take them home, reports the Daily Mail.

The singer, 58, appeared before Justice Fiona Mwale along with security and a small entourage. She was later spotted with one of the children she is reportedly adopting.

She faced backlash in 2008 when she adopted David Banda, and then a year later adopted Mercy James.

For the latest application, the next step is for the court to decide whether to grant the adoption order, Malawi government spokesman Mlenga Mvula said. Madonna will likely hear the court’s decision in one week.

She is currently estranged from her son Rocco, who is living in London with his father, Guy Ritchie.

Update: Madonna's camp tells People she is "in Malawi to check on the children's hospital in Blantyre and my other work with Raising Malawi and then heading home. The rumors of an adoption process are untrue."
