Run For Cover: Justin Bieber Just Brought Back The Gnarliest '90s Trend Of All Time

Four words: men in crop tops.

By Jenny Berg

Those of us who lived through the nineties will remember a particularly awkward moment in fashion. There's no easy way to say this, so we'll just let you have it: men were wearing crop tops. In part, we blame 1989's classic film Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. So, congrats, gentlemen. You made this a thing.

Well, like all things '90s, this trend has come back to life. As People pointed out, boundary-pushing dudes like Jaden Smith, Kid Cudi, and even the Dallas Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott have been bringing the men's crop top out of obscurity for the past year. And then, it happened. The trend got the stamp of approval from The Biebs.

This week, paparazzi captured the pop star wandering the beaches of Rio De Janeiro in this fetching getup:

Don't be surprised if this whole moment signals an even bigger comeback of the trend—Bieber has been known to hold some sway in the fashion industry. Also, at least Biebs' outfit makes more sense than this
