See Lauren Conrad's Style Evolution
Talk about cat-eye envy.
Prepare to feel old: Today marks the 10th anniversary of The Hills premiere. In honor of the occasion, Lauren Conrad took to her blog to announce that a Hills special will air on MTV in August. But obviously, we can't wait till then to bask in nostalgia. So let's get an LC fix with a look back at how her style has evolved throughout the years.
Spoiler alert: even though she's experimented with bangs and different shades of blond—and, um, was in high school when we first met her—Lauren's style has been clean and feminine since the start. No doubt about it: This is a girl who knows what works for her (and can even pull off mouse ears.)
Ready for a blast from the past? Here's Lauren on MTV's Total Request Live back in 2005. With streaky blond hair and a shimmery "going out top" (remember calling it that?) Lauren was the perfect So-Cal teenager.
By the time she celebrated bestie Lo's birthday in 2007, Lauren had shorter hair and shattered bangs. To this day, she wears lots of neutral tones and flattering, monochromatic looks. And the bow on top of her dress hints at Lauren's love for all things classically feminine.
See? The bow was back for LC's own birthday party that year.
Headbands are another of Lauren's signature accessories. Here she is, wearing a sparkly one—and another sleek, monochromatic look—back in 2007.
In 2009, Lauren attended the Hollywood Style Awards in a braided hairstyle that's become one of her signature looks. And please note the cat eye. It that's not an LC signature, we don't know what is.
No one does a perfect cat eye like Lauren. "When it comes to makeup, less is more," Lauren once wrote on her blog. "So it’s no surprise my all-time favorite beauty look is a fresh face accented with classic black winged eyeliner."
Though she's often spotted in neutral hues, Lauren does leave room for whimsy in her wardrobe. In 2015, she designed a Minnie-Mouse-themed fashion collection decked with jaunty prints.
Earlier this year, Lauren appeared in a look that was classically her—from the clean, minimal makeup to the crisp separates. In this pic, she displays one of her best beauty tips: an even, golden tan. In the past, Lauren has admitted to trying dozens of self-tanners before discovering that she likes Dior's best.
To promote her new book Celebrate, Lauren wore party-ready styles including this floral midi dress. And, have you noticed a theme in footwear? Lauren has a pair of ankle-strap, heeled sandals in nearly every hue, along with a pedicure to match her dress.
