We see a lot of heartwarming videos on a day to day basis, but this one of Smiley the Blind Therapy Dog enjoying a walk through gently falling snow ranks among the best.
According to Smiley’s Instagram, he was born without eyes into a puppy mill, but was then rescued by a generous-hearted woman named Joanne George in 2004. Since then, he has become a St. John Ambulance child therapy dog, and a certifiable internet star.
Living up to his name, the golden retriever not only loves to smile, but also loves to bring smiles to the faces of all who meet him (in real life and on the web). “These kids who were born with different disabilities are able to see that dogs, too, are born with the same disabilities,” George told the Huffington Post. “It’s important for them to see that Smiley has overcome, and that he’s happy.”
In Smiley’s most recent video, he follows George’s voice as they walk down a path of fresh flurries—tongue out, tail wagging—as happy as a kid who just found she has a snow day.
