Hoda Kotb is going to make the best mom ever.
Hoda revealed she chose the name for Halley’s comet, which can be seen from Earth once every seven decades.
"It was one of those things. I just picture her sailing through the sky," she said.
The letter H is also huge in Hoda’s family, with her sister named Hala, and her niece named Hannah, Hoda wanted to continue the tradition.
"She’s a Valentine’s baby so she’s a little nugget," Hoda, 52, said Tuesday during a phone call to Today. "She is the love of my life!"
Her co-anchor Kathie Lee Gifford, finally let loose, crying with joy, as she revealed she’d been keeping the adoption a secret for months.
"I’ve got the biggest mouth in the world and I’ve said zilch," she said. "Hoda, we are thrilled for you, sweetheart. You were made to be a mom."
She also tweeted:
“So thrilled for @hodakotb and her precious daughter, Haley Joy!! She will be the best mommy ever! We love you, Hoda, enjoy every moment!”
Matt Lauer weighed in calling it “fantastic news.” “This little girl, Haley, is the luckiest girl on the planet. You are going to be one of the most fantastic moms I can ever imagine.”
As for the baby’s sweet personality, Hoda says, “She brings us joy. She’s got a beautiful way about her.”
Hoda had been taking some time off from the show, hinting at a change coming with some inspirational posts to Instagram.
One read: "And then my soul saw you and it kind of went, 'oh there you are, I've been looking for you.'"
Mazel to Hoda!
