Keeping Up With the Kardashians has made them multi-millionaires, and now the family is in talks with a major movie studio to take their lives to the silver screen.
Kris Jenner and her lawyers are in deep talks to make the movie for a whopping $100 million, which would be for the whole clan. There’s one catch though—the studio execs will only green light the project if every “cast member” signs on, including Caitlyn Jenner, Kanye West, and Lamar Odom.
“When I was investigating the family, I learned they have aspirations to graduate to the silver screen,” author Ian Halperin, who wrote the hit book Kardashian Dynasty, tells Personal Space. “I was recently in a movie executive’s office and learned this deal is going to be nine figures. They want to copy the business template of Sex and the City, and believe they would double the gross sales on the box office. They are much bigger and ubiquitous worldwide, and are on in 154 countries. It would be released in all those countries with subtitles.”
Imagine that, audiences reading "like," "amazing" and "so cute" for two hours.
Ian says the studio, which he didn’t name as to not reveal his source, has spent months doing research, and found the family “appeals to everybody with a pulse,” because the range in age, have babies, and deal with relationship struggles like us common folk.
“They’d never seen that before with any brand,” he says. “The movie would have scripted storylines and it would look like their reality show. They want a lot of tension, and Caitlyn would have to sign on, also Kanye and Lamar.”
The executive also said the studio would keep production values high and script impeccable.
“Kris has the final say, but several people are involved, lawyers, agents, the worldwide receipts from this would be astronomical,” Ian says. “It would be translated into different languages and basically be an extension of the show.”
Keeping Up With The Kardashians launched on October 14, 2007.
