A lot of people are hurting and scared in the world right now. Following stunning votes in America and in the U.K. this year, for instance, folks seem more divided than ever before. And that's why what we all need right now is a sincere group hug. Or barring that, we at least need the glut of tear-jerking commercials that pop up around holiday time for a few paltry minutes of cathartic relief at our desks.
London's Heathrow Airport has released its first Christmas commercial ever, a minute-long spot that has quickly started to trend on Facebook — with nearly 4 million views. The ad shows a pair of cuddly teddybears, landing at the airport, showing their passports (complete with uber-cute photos) to officials, getting their bags off the carousel, and clumsily trying to pick up gifts from a shop without knocking everything over.
In the end, the bears turn into human grandparents just in time to scoop up the kids running gleefully toward them. They have come home to be with loved ones for the holidays.
Ahem, is someone chopping onions around here?
