This Little Valentine's Day Dessert Costs $9.85 Million

It's got some tasty strawberries in it. Oh, and another special ingredient.

With Valentine's Day around the corner, 'tis the season for marriage proposals, and Arnaud’s in New Orleans wants in on the action. A long-time staple in the city's culinary scene, the French-Creole restaurant has been part of many a memorable occasion over the years, including helping a guest present a diamond bracelet to his companion via a live turkey: The bird arrived at the table wearing the trinket as a collar around its neck.

Inspired by those impossible-to-forget visuals, Arnaud's is offering marriage hopefuls a proposal no one can refuse. First, you'll get an amped-up version of the restaurant's Strawberries Arnaud dessert. Sweet Louisiana-grown strawberries, tinged with Ceylon cinnamon and Tahitian vanilla and topped with a ruby port sauce, are served in a Champagne glass with a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream and a whole strawberry. Then comes an ultra-luxe version of Arnaud’s signature French 75 cocktail, made with Hennessy Paradis Cognac, Grand Marnier 100, Cristal Champagne, freshly squeezed lemon juice and edible 24-karat gold leaf flakes.

But that's not all, folks. Drumroll, please. Next comes...epic bling in the form of an engagement ring from MS Rau Antiques in the French Quarter, with a colossal 10.06-karat royal blue diamond.

The only catch? The $9.85 million dollar price tag.

But if you're short the cash, you can still feel like a victor. Order the scaled down version of the Strawberries Arnaud, minus the huge diamond rock, for $9.
