As any fan of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills knows, Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd are staunch, vocal critics of the Yulin Dog Meat Festival in China. Not only have they co-founded Stop Yulin Forever, they’ve also organized marches in L.A. and on Washington, and they constantly use their platforms to speak out against the torturous practice.
So the past few months have been a whirlwind of emotion for Lisa Vanderpump as it was first reported that this year’s Yulin Festival would be banning the sale of dog meat, and then a month later, it was revealed that the dog meat ban had not yet been signed into law.
But in classic Lisa Vanderpump fashion, she is not going to just stand by and take it. This year, she has enlisted the efforts of her non-profit organization, Vanderpump Dogs, to provide hands-on help for the dogs suffering from Yulin overseas.
“Our Executive Director, Dr. John Sessa, is off to Yulin, China to provide much needed relief for dogs that have been rescued from trucks en route to the Yulin Dog Meat Festival,” Vanderpump Dogs posted on their Instagram. “We will be giving you updates from our time on the ground. We still need your help to make a difference! Please donate, even if it's just $1, so we can provide much needed medication to all the dogs affected. Click the link in our bio to donate to our non-profit foundation. We thank you so much for your support!”
The Vanderpump Dogs account continued to post boots-on-the-ground updates from Yulin, detailing the dogs they have met and the help they have provided. (WARNING: Some images are graphic.)
