"Kanye will not be attending the Met Gala and will be staying in L.A. with their kids," a source confirmed to E!, saying that Kanye initially planned on hitting fashion's biggest red carpet, but recently changed his mind.

Kim still seems hyped about the event: she's been tweeting about it all month. We're guessing Kim might hang with her sisters for the party—but what's the deal? Is Kanye pulling back a bit from the fashion world? His Yeezy show in February was surprisingly low-key and drama-free. Hmm, maybe he just decided he can't top his blue contact-wearing "vibes" look from last year's gala.

Also, what will Anna Wintour think? Page Six just reported that the powers that be aren't pleased if approved guests skip the event, even for a single year. “I know people who decided not to go one year because they weren’t around or didn’t like the theme,” an unnamed socialite told Page Six. “Once you do that, you’re not invited back unless you’re triple A-list.” OK, Kanye, in that case, you’re probably safe.
