Connie Britton Had to Banish This Food from Her Diet Because It's like "a Drug for Me"
All eyes are on Connie Britton for her Golden Globe-nominated role in Bravo's Dirty John.
Connie Britton is the center of attention for her role as star and executive producer of Bravo's Dirty John — which is currently burning up ratings and earning Britton major award nominations, including a Golden Globe nom. With all eyes on Britton, she's opening up about the way she maintains her health and camera-ready physique — and how her approach has changed now at age 51.
"I’ve done a bunch of cleanses over the years. Raw food really worked for me, and so did the Blood Type Diet," Britton told Health. "But now that I’ve turned 50, it’s not so easy. I used to be able to exercise or change what I eat, and in a few days I was good, but that doesn’t happen anymore. I’m in a new phase, and I haven’t figured it out yet."
With her age comes the simple wisdom that "moderation is important," she told Health. "I eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and clean proteins."
Beyond that, Britton avoids the one food that she knows just doesn't work for her. "I try to stay away from sugar," she said. "It really is a drug for me. It not only impacts my weight, it impacts my body chemistry. Though if I could have a chocolate chip cookie or really anything that is chocolate, I would be a very happy camper."
