Gage Edward Reveals Daughter Monroe's Hilarious Thoughts on Her New "Big Girl Bed"
The Flipping Out dad used an interesting tactic to get the 3-year-old to sleep in her new bed.
Gage Edward’s three-year-old daughter, Monroe, has officially graduated to a “big girl bed.” The only problem is, she doesn’t seem to be too excited to actually sleep in it just yet. The Flipping Out dad shared a look at a conversation between he and his daughter, and Monroe’s adorable reasoning will definitely brighten your day.
In a May 25 Instagram Story, Gage shared a video where he is sitting on the couch with Monroe. During the sweet encounter, Monroe explains why she didn’t feel like sleeping in her bedroom the night before.
“I didn’t want to sleep in my big bed because I wanted to go on the sofa,” said Monroe.
“But what did we find out about the sofa?” Gage asked.
Monroe then piped up with a pretty unexpected response. “It was closed,” she said.
“It was closed,” Gage replied. “So, we had to sleep on our big girl bed, right? Did you love it?”
“Mmhm,” said Monroe, which was an answer that surely shocked Gage. “But sometimes I don’t like my big girl bed. ‘Cause it’s too long! I can’t sleep in it. I love you!”
Gage hilariously telling Monroe that their couch is “closed” isn’t the first time one of the little girl’s fathers has adapted some unlikely reasoning to change her mind. During the March 30 episode of Jeff Lewis Live, Jeff Lewis explained the tactic he has developed to get Monroe to try some new foods outside of the only three she eats. (Which are “eggies,” quesadillas and meatballs, by the way.)
“She doesn’t eat anything else. Now, we’re in a situation where I can’t always give her one of the three things that she wants to eat,” Jeff explained.
Jeff then noted that Monroe has a doll of the Frozen character, Elsa, and that she would really like an Anna doll, as well. “She really wants Anna. We bought Anna. Anna is sitting on the [kitchen] island. It’s kind of mean,” he said. “It’s sitting in a box staring at her every day. I said, ‘If you try five foods, you will get Anna, but you have to try five foods.’”
