Breastfeeding in public can be a hot topic. Moms whipping out a boob in a restaurant or park can still cause others to feel highly uncomfortable.

But Gap unveiled their new ad on their Instagram page this week, featuring a mom breastfeeding her child for their new apparel line, Love by GapBody, which is comfy loungewear they claim is great for breastfeeding your baby.

“Love your forever favorite. Pima cotton and a secret soft wash make these sleep shirts the ones you’ll want to wear, keep, and love. Tap to shop. #LoveByGapBody,” the company wrote on Instagram. (Click the arrow on the middle right side of the image above to see more.)

And the company revealed that the breastfeeding shot wasn’t even planned. Model Adaora Akubilo told the Chicago Tribune, that her son was hungry, and she needed a break to breastfeed. The photographer found the moment moving and snapped a few pics.

“I let them know,” she said. “They’re like, ‘Oh, my God, of course it’s OK, go ahead.’ And they said, ‘You can do it right here. I’m so comfortable just nursing my son anywhere. If my son needs to nurse, I’m going to nurse him.”

Many moms have been praising the ad for being so honest and sending a positive message. Many tagged #normalizebreastfeeding on social media while tweeting at the Gap.

The model said she approve the image because “I don’t want women to feel shamed,” she said. “It’s so important to encourage mothers.”
