James Kennedy Is Fully Committed to Lisa Vanderpump: "I Won’t Mess It Up This Time!"
The DJ is a SURver again — and he's pledging his allegiance and good behavior to his boss.
He's back! That's right, James Kennedy was welcomed back into the SUR fold on the Season 6 finale of Vanderpump Rules. And while flexing his bad boy muscle is what got him fired from Lisa Vanderpump's West Hollywood hotspot in the past, he pledges he's turned a new leaf. "Another amazing year! I officially work at SUR every Tuesday and Thursday and couldn’t be happier!" he shared on Twitter. "I won’t mess it up this time!"
Previously, mentor-extraordinaire LVP spoke to The Daily Dish about if she thinks James has really reformed himself — and back in January, she said his evolution is definitely still a work in progress.
"I have [seen him grow up], but he's not there yet," she said earlier this year. "And he puts on this kind of bravado of, 'Well, yeah, well I've grown up and I've done this' — and then he'll be two steps forward, one step back. So I'm saying not one step forward, two steps back — two steps forward. Really, he is. And then he makes a stupid mistake. What he has to learn is sometimes you have to shut up. Sometimes you have to walk away because sometimes people want to provoke you. You have to know when to rise above. He's got to learn that."
With James back on the scene at SUR, LVP she also revealed her take on DJ's music career. "I hope that he uses this as a vehicle to where he wants," she said. "But you've got to be smart. You've got to look at where you're going and figure out to get there."
Next up for James, LVP and the rest of the SURvers? Well, the Season 6 reunion — which kicks off Monday at 9/8c. Preview, below.
