This Valentine's Day, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will celebrate all things love in a land that's filled with ancient castles, staggering vistas, and... bagpipes. (Woodwind instruments are romantic! In their way.) In case you haven't guessed it yet, the engaged couple is headed to Scotland for a holiday getaway. It will be their first and only Valentine's Day as an engaged couple — but, it's not all play.
The visit to Edinburgh, which is scheduled to kick off on February 13, marks an official royal engagement for the besotted pair. The trip's itinerary will include a stop at Edinburgh Castle (which shouldn't feel too unfamiliar to Harry), as well as a visit to a cafe run by homeless youth. The couple will also hit a reception held in honor of Scotland's youth.
Though there's no word on how long the trip will last — or whether Markle and her prince will, indeed, stay overnight in Scotland — we're sure the pair will find a little romance along the way. But before you picture the two canoodling over chocolate-dipped strawberries, remember that these love birds skew towards the nontraditional.
We're thinking a cheese tower strewn with red rose petals may be more their Valentine's-Day speed... but no matter what, we can't wait to see it all unfold.
