Internet Trolls Are Coming After Sarah Michelle Gellar for Her Mother-Son Mani Date

The actress' family bonding moment has sparked quite the debate.

If there is anything we learned from 2017, it’s that internet trolls have no chill when it comes to celebs' parenting. A few months ago, Jessica Simpson came under fire for spending quality time with her daughter over a mommy-and-me makeup date. And now Sarah Michelle Gellar is the latest celeb mommy to be targeted by these mommy shamers.

Recently, the actress treated her 5-year-old son Rocky James Prinze to a family day of pampering — and shared pictures of the precious moment on Instagram. In the images, Prinze appeared thrilled to be sharing this experience with his actress momma.

The mother-son duo even got matching manicures. Super adorable.

But then the trolls came out. According to Hollywood Gossip, the images sparked a heated debate after surfacing across the internet. Some claimed that the experience would “confuse” Gellar’s son, while others called the moment an “attention seeking mistake.” Some people even went as far as to call it “child abuse.”

On a positive note, many fans and media outlets also came to Gellar’s defense, praising her for her parenting skills and helping to redefine gender norms with this family moment.

Last time I checked, there weren’t any "Girls Only" signs in any nail salons. A simple pleasure such as getting a fun manicure is a harmless experience that anyone can enjoy — no matter your gender. This is exactly what Gellar has shown her son.

Keep slaying motherhood, Sarah.
