Lauren Conrad's Hair Keeps Getting "Shorter and Shorter and Shorter"

The new mom has a good reason to embrace shorter lengths.

By Jenny Berg

With a five-month-old son to watch over — and a couple of business endeavors to helm — Lauren Conrad hasn't had much time for public appearances lately. So, the Laguna Beach alum had only provided social-media teasers of her chic new hairstyle, until she finally gave fans a full-on view of the chic bob at an event this week. Phew! This was getting suspenseful.

But first, let's review: Conrad first showed off a glimpse of her new style in late October. And we say a glimpse, we mean just a teeny peek. The social-media post showed the back of LC's head as scissors hovered over her long ponytail, which she hadn't chopped in three years. What a tease!

But, we did get some of the backstory. Chatting with People about her new look in November, Conrad explained: "I just cut it off. Honestly, it’s more of a time saver. I have to blow dry my hair while my son is napping and it doesn’t always last that long so less hair is less time. I don’t have time for a lot of hair."

Around the same time as the interview, Conrad showed more of her short new style on social media. Offering a profile view of her beachy bob, the new mom tagged her tried-and-true stylist, Kristin Ess. We can see why Conrad sticks with Ess: the beauty pro certainly knows how to enhance her client's California-chic vibe.

We still had to wait a good month-plus after that to get a real look at the new style. Luckily, Conrad finally showed off her new head of hair at the grand opening of Kellogg's NYC Cereal Cafe on December 12. Here's the view we've all been waiting for:

Now that the bob has been made public, Ess is also showing off her work. On December 13, the stylist posted an Instagram snap that showed a wavy take on her client's new look. She noted that Conrad's tresses keep getting "shorter & shorter & shorter," and more chic all the while.

shorter & shorter & shorter. ✂️ this one... constantly raising the effortless-chic bar . 📈
