Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez Are Making a Strong Case to Bring Back This '80s Trend

Honestly, it has never looked cooler.

A few weeks ago Rihanna had Instagram buzzing when she oh-so-casually pulled off a pair of $1,340 crystal-engraved Gucci "stockings." While the socks certainly stole the show, we couldn’t help but notice the very '80s trend the singer managed to bring back into our lives: To accesorize her black mini dress, she paired the mid-calf lux stockings with a pair of white mule heels. Talk about a blast from the past.

It looks like this IG slay may have sparked a trend because Jennifer Lopez has also joined team #GucciGang. Last night, the 48-year-old singer and her glam squad flooded our feeds with a fierce shot of Lopez rocking the same crystal Gucci socks — but with her own J.Lo twist of course.

In the glam World of Dance shot, the singer dons a pretty ballerina-like tulle skirt paired with a furry white sweater. Once again, the heels and socks trend comes into play. Like Rihanna, Lopez also revived this '80s trend, by wearing the sheer socks under pair of purple open toe sandals. The overall aura is very Flashdance meets 2018.

We never really imagined this particular trend as one destined to make a strong comeback. But then again, bandana tops and fanny packs have somehow had a fashion resurrection, so anything is possible. Plus, Rihanna and Lopez have both managed to make this vintage style look chicer than ever.
