Simone: Conflict Resolution Is So Important
Dr. Simone discusses the joy of having her sister in town and her thoughts on the Quad and Lisa Nicole drama.
Thank you for tuning into Married to Medicine with me for the show. I love our new time of 9 pm and not having to worry about a different time each week. Please share with your friends so we can have more people to live tweet with us.
I had a great time this week going to pick up my sister, Carmen. We always have so much fun together, and as you can tell, we are both excited about Miles having a date this weekend. Girlfriends are great to spend time with, but nothing beats Carmen showing up in the ATL.
Carmen and I are eight years apart, and as you can tell from our conversation about my dad, we had totally different experiences growing up. I have a number of fond memories with my dad on family vacations and riding around in his car or on his motorcycle, but Carmen’s experiences are more closely tied to his alcoholic downfall. She is a very smart lady, and her advice is probably right regarding my dad and my boys.
I thought the part with Toya and Eugene with the baby monitor was cute. I hope it was all done in fun, because Eugene was clear that spying on him in the kitchen is not the right approach. I can tell you one thing, whatever Eugene was snacking on really looked good. LOL.
This episode should have been called the "Battle of the Lawyers." Seeing Lisa Nicole with her business attorney and Quad with the lovely Phaedra Parks saddens me because we should not come to blows to the point of needing legal help. Conflict resolution is so important in every aspect of life, and walking away is fundamental.
I am still partial to “Sit is the New It,” however, I had to go out and support Dr. Jackie’s "Fit is the New It" nature run. I think it was obvious from the episode I wasn’t having a great time, and it was so cold outside I had to borrow a coat. I hope going forward, "Fit is the New It" events are done inside or with better weather.
Miles was a great sport with Carmen and I spying on his date with his friend Mariah. I think they had fun even with the shenanigans of us dodging in and out of cars. Miles is a great son, and I know he will have plenty of dates as he gets older, so I will have to get my arms wrapped around the concept. Pray for me!
Make sure you tune in next week with me for our adventure to Cali. You will never guess which ladies joined Quad and I on the trip, and all I can tell you is the preview is just a small taste of how the trip dynamics went from 0 to 100.
Thanks for watching and have a great week.
God Bless,
Dr. Simone.
