10 Most Deliciously Over-the-Top Celebrity Destination Weddings

Did your favorite famous lovebirds make the list?

By Jenny Berg

Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles stars Josh Altman and Heather Bilyeu just tied the knot at a destination wedding that had us swooning. And because one ridiculously romantic day only makes us dream of others, we took the opportunity to relive some of the most stunning celebrity destination weddings of all time. Behold the top 10.

1. Josh Altman and Heather Bilyeu

Josh Altman and Heather Bilyeu, stars of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, got hitched last weekend at the St. Regis Aspen Resort, in front of a jaw-dropping backdrop of soaring mountains. The intimate ceremony featured a chupah decked in branches and lush white floral arrangements, and the bride wore a custom gown covered in hand-sewn pearls and beads. To acclimate guests to the chilly weather (many had traveled from L.A., after all) the couple doled out furry blankets and cups of hot chocolate before the ceremony.

2. Whitney Port and Tim Rosenman

When fashion designer and TV personality Whitney Port tied the knot in November, she chose a gorgeous desert setting. Held in Palm Springs, California, the wedding had a tropical theme that perfectly offset the arid surroundings. Port crowned her hairdo with a cluster of vibrant green leaves, which matched the stunning, leafy arch where the couple said their vows.

3. George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin

When George Clooney finally found the one, he celebrated in style. In 2014, the dapper star wed Amal Alamuddin at the Aman Canal Grande luxury hotel in Venice, Italy. Set in a 16th-century palazzo, the venue is dripping with chandeliers and gilded fixtures — totally fitting for Hollywood royalty.

4. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

Perhaps you’ve heard? Kim Kardashian married Kanye West in 2014. And the stunning couple — not known for their simple lifestyle — hosted their celebration against the deeply impressive backdrop of Florence, Italy. Held outdoors in the midst of lush floral walls, the celebration reportedly featured a performance from Andrea Bocelli... which is not a bad alternative to a more typical wedding band.

5. John Legend and Chrissy Teigen

Adorable duo John Legend and Chrissy Teigen also said their vows in Italy. The couple chose Lake Como (Clooney would be proud) as the setting for their 2014 wedding. The venue, a lakeside estate, was regal and romantic. But the most show-stopping element may have been the bride’s incredible gown. (Can’t. Stop. Staring.)

6. John Krasinski and Emily Blunt

Deeply in love minds think alike. Actors John Krasinski and Emily Blunt also escaped to the lake for their 2010 wedding. The luxurious Villa D’Este estate, which offers picturesque views of the sapphire-blue lake, was the setting for their romantic celebration.

7. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel

Guess who else hearts Italy? Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel’s 2010 wedding was a destination spectacle that took place at the at the palatial Borgo Egnazia hotel in southern Italy. Not detail was too small for the besotted duo, who reportedly walked down an aisle covered in heart-shaped petals.

8. Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats

When Alicia Keys married Swizz Beatz in 2010, the singer chose an island backdrop for her special day. In a beautifully simple Vera Wang gown, the singer said her vows in Corsica. Guests included Bono, Queen Latifah, and Christian Louboutin. (NBD.) So if the wedding was intimate and classy, the guest list — and stunning destination — were certainly over the top.

9. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds

Blake Lively married Ryan Reynolds in a 2014 ceremony that was steeped in southern charm. The couple chose Charleston, South Carolina as the setting for their intimate celebration. Sweet details included a rustic table piled with old-fashioned desserts, and the bride’s Marchesa gown scored major points for originality.

10. Victoria Adams and David Beckham

Dashing duo Victoria and David Beckham got married in 1999, during an unforgettable celebration just outside of Dublin, Ireland. The wedding took place at Luttrellstown Castle, a private estate with walled gardens that seem plucked from a fairytale.
