Pool season is upon us and we're dreaming of a dip. But not just any dip: We're game to jet to one of the most extraordinary hotel pools in the world. Prepare to drool over these jaw-dropping beauties, from infinity to zero-edge and beyond.
1. Hanging Gardens of Bali, Ubud
Set on top of a cliff and suspended over the surrounding rainforest, the bilevel infinity pool at the appropriately named Hanging Gardens of Bali gives the serene sensation of floating across the treetops — no ziplining required.
2. Grace Santorini, Greece
Built into the cliffs, the infinity pool at Grace Santorini looks out over the caldera to the sparkling Aegean Sea. We can't think of a better place to catch one of Santorini's famous sunsets.
3. The Cambrian, Switzerland
In the Alpine valley of Abelboden, the oddly named Cambrian (it's run by two Welshmen) has an outdoor thermal pool that appears to dramatically drop off into the Swiss Alps.
4. Avalon Hotel, Gothenburg, Sweden
The rooftop swimming pool at Avalon Hotel juts out beyond the edge of the building, giving 360-degree views from the fully glass-encased pool.
5. Marina Bay Sands, Singapore
The pool on the 55th floor of the Marina Sands is not for the faint of heart. The highest and longest rooftop infinity pool in the world, it appears to just drop off the ledge and plunge down to earth. Shudder (in the best way).
6. The Library, Koh Samui, Thailand
We all love a sparkling turquoise pool but The Library has no time for pedestrian designs. Instead, the hotel flaunts a blood red pool that looks as though Jaws has recently paid a visit. Chic or scary? You decide.
7. Molitor, Paris, France
The Art Deco Molitor reigned as Paris' favorite swimming pool for 60 years until it fell into decline and closed for good in the 1980s. Happily, though, the pool has been restored to all its vintage glam glory. Today the pool is open to guests staying at new hotel built around it, which offers something of the Mediterranean vibe in the heart of Paris.
8. Hotel du Cap Eden Roc, Antibes, France
Nowhere does Old World glamour quite like the South of France, and nowhere will make you feel quite as classic Hollywood starlet as the heated infinity pool at Hotel du Cap Eden Roc. It's the favorite of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles's Josh Flagg — so you know it's the real deal.
9. Cheval Blanc Randheli, Maldives
Everyone knows that the best swimming pool... is a private pool. At the ultra luxurious Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives each villa has its own infinity pool that leads directly into the ocean. True high rollers, by the way, need to book the four-bedroom Owner's Villa, which occupies its own private island with an 80-foot-long infinity pool.
10. Jade Mountain, St. Lucia
Each of Jade Mountain's individually designed "sanctuaries" comes with its own private infinity pool where you and your honey (this place is practically made for honeymooners) can gaze across the bay toward the stunning Piton mountains.
