The Most Stressful Thing Chad's Ever Done

Chad Caroll dishes on the big proposal and how he planned every detail.

I wouldn’t say I’m afraid of heights, but Steve is one of my biggest clients and I’ll do pretty much anything for him. I knew that us taking a helicopter around the property would really show Steve exactly how amazing and valuable his view would be. Although I am not going to lie, I was a little afraid once I got up there and I haven’t been in one since then! Throughout my real estate career I have done some pretty crazy things in order to get a deal done.

Negotiating with Yosi is never easy and this time he made it extremely tough on me. At the end of the day I walked away with a great deal for my client. Steve was beyond thrilled. By combining units he is going to make a huge profit. When my family friends from Columbus who are jewelers brought over the different ring options, I pretty much knew which one I liked immediately and it happened to be the largest one. Having Jen’s mom there made it feel more "real," but she didn’t add any pressure. I knew what I wanted Jen to have design wise, I was just trying to grasp the price tag!

I had been planning the proposal for almost six months. It was one of the most stressful things I have ever done. Jen is the most important person in my life, and I wanted to make sure it was perfect. On one of our first dates, we went on the same yacht I chartered that night. This was one of the most special moments in our lives, and I wanted it to mean something that we will forever cherish. You only get one chance at making a proposal last a lifetime, so I made sure to make it count.
