Kelly Bensimon Opens Up About Being a "Full-Time Empty Nester”
As the RHONY alum gets ready to live without her daughters in her apartment, she revealed on MDLNY that she is ready to make some major life changes.
Kelly Killoren Bensimon’s daughters are all grown up, and on Million Dollar Listing New York's July 22 episode, she considered what her next chapter will look like when Sea and Teddy have both permanently moved out of her apartment.
“I’m gonna be a full-time empty nester,” The Real Housewives of New York City alum shared with Fredrik Eklund. “It’s crazy, but it’s also exciting.” Without her daughters at home, Kelly is planning new real estate career moves across different cities. “It’s time for me to branch out doing business in LA, doing business in Florida,” she said, noting that she already has her Florida license and is "going to get" her California license.
"I'm really happy for Kelly in her new real estate career," Fredrik said in an interview. "I mean, she's ambitious. That's the key to success in real estate."
Fredrik expanded his own business to California when he moved to Los Angeles in 2019. "Professionally, the move to LA was a little more difficult at the start. I felt like a salty Swedish fish out of water," he shared in a 2020 Instagram post. "I realize now just how much I used to identify myself with being the top dog in NYC and having to start over more or less in LA. I ruffled some feathers as you’ll see on MDLLA this season but I’ve also made a lot of friends and feel just at home in LA as I do in New York professionally today."
