The Kardashian-Jenner family vacationed this week in Costa Rica, where they commanded their typical share of media attention — and as is also typical, attention wasn't always positive. For one thing, their security detail may have roughed up a Bravo star who encountered the family in the Liberia airport.
As well, more than one sister in the brood appeared to make reference to their travel destination as an island. Instead, it's actually a Central American country that borders Nicaragua to the North and Panama to the South.
That's the same peninsula, in the northwest province of Guanacaste along the country’s Pacific Coast, that houses the luxurious Four Seasons Resort. But Manzu is all about total privacy and isolation.
This eight-suite estate, which comes in at more than 30,000 square feet, covers five acres in an isolated peninsula. There are two swimming pools and a spa, plus a theater and large room with bar for parties.
The Kardashians were free to spread out over the grounds, with hammocks, chairs, and other little areas for resting and marveling at one's own great fortune. Or rather, for observing 180-degree sea views and watching monkeys playfully hang out in the trees.
The highly trained staff at the resort is educated in the country's history and surroundings (and would therefore be capable of answering geography questions like whether or not it is an island), and they serve as both guides and entertainment to give guests a real experience in cultural immersion.
Chef-prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included, and there's a wine room stocked with hand-picked varietals and top-end cigars.
Apropos for a Kardashian — or someone who just likes to travel like one — the property offers butler and maid services, as well as drivers who will whisk you around in a Range Rover, Ford Explorer SUV, or Jeep Wrangler.
To stay active, help yourself to two golf carts, a dozen surf boards, and standup paddle boards (hey, try the sport naked if you're really into celeb vacation inspiration), two kayaks, and three mountain bikes.
An Arnold Palmer golf course, tennis courts, and marina are all just an easy jaunt away too. And hiking paths lead from the villa to nearby beaches — one's just 100 yards away.
Manzu is available exclusively — and not by the room.
