The Softest, Most Luxurious Bath Towels Are Way More Affordable Than You Think

If you’re avid homewares shopper, you’re probably familiar with Brooklinen, the Brooklyn-based textile company that’s been churning out crazy comfortable sheets at crazy affordable prices since 2014. Always popping up in my IG feed, the company stays top of mind for days because, well, I just can’t stop saying Brooklinen over and over in my head. Such a clever name for a company. Why didn’t I think of that when I was living in Brooklyn?!

How are they in person? Brooklinen isn’t calling these puppies “super-plush” for no reason. The towels are, in a word, divine. The term fluffy doesn’t even do them justice. They feel heavenly on the skin. Like something you’d encounter in a celebrity spa or a fancy hotel. In actuality, I was in my regular old bathroom, yet feeling pampered to bits.

Comprised of 820-gram Turkish cotton, the brand says their secret sauce is the “Z twist terry weave,” which helps the towels hold their shape without unraveling in the washing machine. To the touch, the towel fibers are ultra-fine, and as a result, incredibly absorbent, which was music to my ears. I’ve tested out fluffy towels in the past, and let’s just say those reviews were never written for one main reason — fluff doesn’t always equal absorbency. Would you want to dry yourself off with a giant teddy bear? No. But with this line, Brooklinen has managed to achieve the ultimate triumvirate of towel must-haves: softness, strength, and absorption. Check, check, and check.

My husband appreciates those qualities, but what has him raving is the bath towels’ larger size. “These aren’t baby towels,” he commented. Yes, that’s a rave review from him! What he means is that Brooklinen’s towel size is bigger than the industry standard — large enough to wrap around a grown man with material to spare. But if you really need more fabric, then you go for the collection’s bath sheet, which is a whopping 40- by 70-inches. Perfect for families bathing multiple kids at once, or someone who just likes to wear a towel as a cape, the sheet is going to get the job done.
