While I transitioned a couple of years ago to doing most of my leisurely reading on a digital device, there’s one type of book I’ll never get tired of: a cookbook. There’s just something about having a book in front of me as I slice and dice and mix and mash. And even better if they come with beautiful, close-up photos of the recipes so I can see what my final product is supposed to look like (a girl can dream!). Truth is, I’m also a somewhat sloppy cook, but I’d much rather have the errant ingredients and my sticky fingers spattering a book than my tablet! The way I see it, the tattered and stained pages are proof a recipe is well-loved. And I also look forward to the day I can hand down some of my favorite cookbooks to my children.
