Sarah Jessica Parker Designed the Most Adorable Gap Kids Clothing Line
With sweet patterns, silky fabrics, and rabbits galore, this collection is making us swoon.
Don't tell anyone, but we're seriously considering buying a bunny-shaped wicker bag this morning. Sarah Jessica Parker's new collection for Gap Kids — which is bursting with sweet, old-fashioned patterns, pastel hues, and yes, bunnies — has us seriously charmed. So, even though the line is technically for the little ones, we're sorely tempted to shop it. (PS: the collection also has a bunny headband. Ageless, right?)
The Sex and the City star is no newbie to design, having crafted her own affordable clothing line — remember Bitten? — and a successful shoe line. She's also a longstanding fan of cotton-tailed forest animals.
Those who follow SJP on Instagram know that on the first day of each month, she religiously says "rabbit, rabbit" to bring good luck. (Watch SJP share the tradition with the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen audience, above.)
Along with design and bunnies, of course, Parker adores children. When dreaming up the Gap x Sarah Jessica Parker collection, she was inspired by her 8-year-old twins, Tabitha and Loretta, as well as her 15-year-old son James Wilkie. She also brought in inspiration from her own childhood wardrobe, which included well-cared-for hand-me-downs with gingham prints, floral patterns, and eyelet details.
Following another of the actress' family traditions, each piece has a "property of" sign sewn into it. SJP hopes that the pieces will be passed from generation to generation, and that wearers can scrawl their names onto the tag.
Now available in stores, the line offers children's clothing and accessories that are guaranteed to brighten your day. Scroll down to peep the sweet styles.
