Glenn Close Wants You to Know She's Still "Sexual and ... Eager" at 71
“It’s one of the great myths that you lose your sexuality as you get older," the Academy Award-nominated actress declared.
Glenn Close has long been associated with playing very passionate roles, as evidenced by the amorousness she portrayed in The Wife, and she's keen to let people know that passion itself is something that will always stay with her.
“It’s one of the great myths that you lose your sexuality as you get older," Glenn, 71, told The Guardian.
“I feel as free and as creative, as sexual and as eager, as I ever have,” she said. “And it’s ironic because I’m thinking: ‘How much time do I have left now?’ There are so many things I’m interested in doing. It’s one of those ironies, I suppose, that we sometimes start feeling comfortable in our own skin only late in our lives, but hopefully with enough time to benefit from it.”
Glenn just received her seventh Academy Award nomination, which now makes her the most nominated living actor or actress who has yet to win an Oscar. She's more than fine with whatever the eventual outcome will be — no boiled bunnies.
"If I do lose, I want to look at the camera and reassure everyone: ‘I’m OK.’," she said.
