What’s up with Huma Abedin?
The top Hillary Clinton aide has pulled her divorce case with her jailed serial-sexter husband, Anthony Weiner.
This week, both their legal teams cited their desire to protect their 6-year-old son by settling outside court. But Page Six reports that the real reason could be to “shield one another from a potential federal probe” and invoke spousal immunity.
The news came as Huma was spotted enjoying a Hawaiian vacay while her lawyer submitted paperwork signed by both parties agreeing to end the case. The judge declared the case “discontinued.”
“In order to reduce any impact of these proceedings on their child, the parties have decided to reach a settlement swiftly and privately,” Abedin’s lawyer, Charles Miller, and Weiner’s attorney, Margaret Donohoe, said in separate statements.
But in order for a divorce to be legal, the two still have to file a settlement.
Huma, successful and beautiful in her own right, has a problem when it comes to Weiner — she stayed with him when he resigned from Congress in 2011 after tweeting out a photo of his crotch. In 2013, she stayed with him after he was outed as sexting under the pseudonym “Carlos Danger.”
He further embarrassed her in the documentary Weiner, and is now serving a 21-month sentence for sending sexually explicit text messages to a 15-year-old girl.
What a catch.
