Jessica Simpson Had an Incredibly Tough Pregnancy and Now She’s Been Rewarded With a 10 Lb. 13 Oz. Baby
The good news is, mama and baby are both doing great!
It's a girl! A very big girl! After making it through a complicated pregnancy like a champ, Jessica Simpson has delivered a 10 pound, 13 ounce bundle of joy named Birdie Mae Johnson.
The chanteuse announced the news with an Instagram post on March 19. To caption a black-and-white snap that showed her daughter grasping the newborn's teeny hand, Simpson wrote: "We are so happy and proud to announce the birth of our perfect daughter."
Naturally, the gushing, congratulatory fan messages began pouring in instantly. But there were also comments like this one: "Ouch. I had a 10lb.er."
Oh, please, that's nothing. During the past nine months, Simpson has endured severely swollen feet and a host of other uncomfortable issues. In an Instagram post from February, she wrote:
"After a month of sciatica pain, followed by 3 weeks of Bronchitis, I figured since my feet fit in my sneaks today. I needed to walk out a lot of anxiety!!" (You know Jess holds nothing back.)
And, it's tough to carry around a nearly 11 pound baby. Not that mama ever lost her swagger:
And now, just look at the beautiful baby girl she has to show for it all:
Plus, little Birdie Mae's got nothing on this little sweetie. Born on March 18 in New York, Harper Buckley weighed in at 15 pounds, 5 ounces!
