Here Are All the Charges Officially Filed Against Harvey Weinstein So Far (UPDATED)

UPDATE (December 20, 2018, 10:30 a.m.) On Thursday morning, the judge issued a written ruling addressing the defense's motion to dismiss the case against Harvey Weinstein. The case will continue and pre-trial for the remaining charges against the former movie producer will begin on March 7.

UPDATE (October 11, 2018, 12:50 p.m.) The Manhattan District Attorney's office has dropped part of the criminal sexual assault case against Harvey Weinstein. New evidence emerged on Thursday that a police detective had coached a witness — a female friend who was with actress Lucia Evans the night she met Weinstein — to stay silent about her contradictory account of what happened. The case still includes the charges related to the other two women.

Harvey Weinstein is being tried in a criminal case in New York City, and the charges against him escalated on July 2. According to Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Junior, a third woman has stepped forward to level a formal sex-crime charge at the disgraced movie mogul. 

The new indictment states that Weinstein performed oral sex on the accuser against her will in July of 2006. That charge is in addition to another indictment that came in May, which stated that the former Weinstein Company exec had raped an actress in her hotel room in 2013, and forced sexual acts another woman in 2004. 

In an email to media outlets, Vance wrote: "A Manhattan grand jury has now indicted Harvey Weinstein on some of the most serious sexual offenses that exist under New York’s Penal Law. This indictment is the result of the extraordinary courage exhibited by the survivors who have come forward. Our investigation continues. If you are a survivor of the predatory abuse with which Mr. Weinstein is charged, there is still time to pursue justice." 

Weinstein's defense attorney Benjamin Brafman also issued a statement to press, writing: "Mr Weinstein will enter a plea of Not Guilty to the new charges. Mr Weinstein maintains that all of these allegations are false and he expects to be fully vindicated. Furthermore, to charge Mr Weinstein as a predator when the interactions were each consensual is simply not justified." 

If, however, Weinstein is found guilty of the new charge, he could be given a sentence of life in prison. To review, here are the three formal charges that have this far been levied against Weinstein. 

• In 2004, he allegedly forced actress Lucia Evans into an oral-sex act during a business meeting. 
• In 2013, he allegedly cornered and raped an actress in her hotel room.
• In 2006, he allegedly forced oral sex on a third woman. 

Of note: The indictments are in addition to some 90 other accounts of sexual harassment at the ex-movie producer's hands.
