Now Donald Trump Is Going to Be Dragged Into Stormy Daniels' Divorce

One Texas lawyer breaks down how the president is mixed up in the split.

Stormy Daniels’ estranged husband has filed for divorce in Texas — and Donald Trump is already getting dragged into the split.

Stormy, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, has revealed that she had sex with Trump before he became president, but while he was married to Melania, a claim he denies. Stormy’s ex, Glendon Crain, filed his petition for divorce on July 18 in Kaufman County, TX., alleging infidelity as grounds for the divorce. He is also seeking sole custody of the couple's 7-year-old daughter and child support from Stormy. He was just granted a temporary restraining order against Stormy which restricts unsupervised access to their daughter.

So what does this have to do with Trump?

Jim Mueller, a high-powered divorce lawyer and Managing Partner of Dallas-based law firm Verner Brumley Mueller Parker, explains to Personal Space that her ex is trying to establish a pattern of adultery in order to prove she's a cheater.

“Everybody has read the headlines that Stormy is embattled with Trump over an argument over whether a nondisclosure agreement she signed regarding [a payoff from Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen] is valid,” Mueller says. “It says she is not supposed to not mention a word about an alleged affair with Trump. His signature is nowhere on the document so there’s all sorts of questions about the validity of it and if a lawyer can sign it instead of Trump on his behalf. Stormy has now not honored that agreement and has disclosed what she says is the truth about their affair.

“Fast forward we have that case between Trump and Stormy now on hold because of a criminal investigation into [Trump's former attorney] Michael Cohen. What we have in Kaufman County, Texas is that Stormy’s has filed not only a lawsuit for divorce but is claiming adultery. This allegation between Stormy and Trump occurred in 2006, and Stormy married Glendon in 2015 and while her affair [with Trump] may seem to be irrelevant, Glendon’s lawyer is going to argue she has a course of conduct which will show a pattern of adultery and cheating.”

Basically, Stormy may have to testify under oath that she had an affair with Trump — which she has no problem doing and could put the he said/she said to rest once and for all.

“Glendon’s lawyer will try to destroy the credibility of Stormy, and that is where they will try to bring in the non-disclosure agreement,” Mueller says.”The judge will make a decision whether she’ll have to talk under oath. Her lawyer will argue it’s irrelevant, but what her ex’s lawyer will argue is that she has a pattern of cheating.”

Stormy has said she had sex with Trump in 2006 when he was married, which Trump has denied. Prosecutors have been investigating the $130,000 payment that was made to her by Cohen just days before the 2016 presidential election. Meanwhile, Stormy’s pitbull lawyer Michael Avenatti said in a tweet that her marriage ended mutually and that the ”accuracy" of the divorce petition is "vehemently disputed."
