If You're Trying to Stay Friends After a Breakup, Look to These 10 Celeb Ex-Couples

From Gwyneth and Chris to Bruce and Demi, these couples have all publicly stayed pals, even when they decided to call it quits on love.

Having an amicable relationship with an ex doesn’t work for everyone  — and not many of us are inviting exes to our weddings — but there are some celebrity couples who have mastered the art of maintaining a cordial relationship with their past love. We'd argue the most iconic of these are Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow, who first brought widespread atttention to the concept of "conscious uncoupling" that many couples are still trying to emulate to this day.

Take Jack Osbourne, for example, whose wife Lisa recently filed for divorce after nearly six years of marriage. When TMZ caught them out and about with their children on May 21, he joked that they are "pulling a page from Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow's book."

Whether it’s for the sake of their kids, or just having mad respect for their ex’s new love, see how these famous former couples still spend time together now as good friends, co-parents or (at least) polite social acquaintances.

Jack Osbourne and Lisa Osbourne

Lisa Osbourne recently filed for divorce (about three months after giving birth to her third child) and her joint statement with Jack stressed “what’s best for our family right now is that we separate lovingly, and remain best friends who are committed to raising our children together. … We are disappointed but feel confident that we will continue to grow our relationship as co-parents and best friends.” That's a mature way to recognize that they are "in this for the long haul together" (as they told TMZ), as parents to Pearl Clementine, Andy Rose, and Minnie Theodora.

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow

Chris and Gwyneth announced their conscious uncoupling in 2014 — but that doesn’t mean they aren’t still connected. The two spend a ton of time together for the sake of their children, Moses and Apple. Since then, the twosome has been spotted out and about shopping together, having picnic lunches with the kids, and even brunching with their new partners. And Gwen loves capturing these #modernfamily moments on her social media.

Demi Moore and Bruce Willis

Demi and Bruce may have divorced in 1998, but the two have remained chummy with each other — and one another's spouses — for nearly two decades. They jointly cheered daughter Rumer on during her championship season on Dancing With the Stars and stint on Broadway. Rumer has said she never had to worry about splitting up vacations or birthdays because her parents made an effort to do family things together after the divorce. While there have been rumors over the years of Bruce and Demi reuniting, that seems more likely to be about co-starring together rather than cohabitating.

Seal and Heidi Klum

Married in 2005 and divorced in 2012, Seal and Heidi co-parent four children, which pretty much guarantees that they will always be connected. Despite their divorce, Heidi and Seal are consistently spotted in shared family time. In fact, they are so close that Seal was invited to guest judge on Heidi’s series America's Got Talent last year, which then sparked rumors of a reconciliation.

Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr

Even though it was a short coupling for Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr who were married in 2010 and divorced in 2013, their union produced son Flynn. Now these two are effortlessly co-parenting their 6-year-old offspring. The stunning actress shared with Edit magazine that her and Orlando's divorce was “the right thing to do … there is no hostility there. We’ll always be friends.” Orlando even put his movie career on hold until he and Miranda could organize the perfect schedule to take care of their son.

Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry

Obviously, Orlando’s a pro about staying friends with your ex. So when his relationship ended with Katy Perry after 10 months in 2016, Orlando once again acted like a proper English gentleman and spoke quite highly of his former girlfriend. "We're friends. It's good. We're all grown up," the actor told Elle UK. Katy has added that "no one is a victim or a villain," a much more civilized than her experience with ex-husband Russell Brand. (Katy and Russell weren’t even on speaking terms when they divorced in 2012.)

Bella Hadid and The Weeknd

This RHOBH daughter and her singer beau dated from 2015 to 2016 but had to call it quits because of their crazy work schedules. They did get it right in their hashtag goals to #remainfriends. After breaking up with Selena Gomez, The Weeknd was spotting “hanging out” in Bella’s New York City pad, with rumors flying that he’s still in love with her and the two were recently spotted canoodling at Coachella. While Bella isn’t certain they’d date again, she does want to always be good pals.

Kevin Hart and Torrei Hart

The funnyman and first wife Torrei split in 2011. During their eight years of marriage, the union produced their adorable children, daughter Heavenly and son Hendrix. Devoted to being the ultimate dad, Kevin regularly partners with his ex to benefit his kids. That includes countless birthday parties, including Hendrix’s Ninja-themed 10th birthday celebration at GlowZone LA last November. Torrei admits that co-parenting isn’t always easy, but you “just have to learn how to deal with it,” she shared with US Weekly.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have been an amicable force since their divorce in 2011. They’ve been reunited on numerous occasions over the past six years, for their twins Max and Emme’s birthdays and on work projects. Even Jennifer’s current boyfriend (baseball great Alex Rodriguez) is a fan of her ex. Back in September, the former MLB posted a video on social media site, where he thanked Marc Anthony for helping A-Rod and J.Lo with their efforts to raise $1 million for Puerto Rico hurricane relief.

Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake

Cameron and Justin dated from 2003 to 2007, where they forged a lifelong friendship. It’s so strong that Cameron thought it was "no big deal" to play a smitten love interest to his substitute in the 2011 film Bad Teacher. Cameron has gone so far as to call Justin a "genius comedian” and considers him a great friend.
