If you’re one of those people who think Coachella, or Stagecoach, or anything with a “coach” in it is the most fun in the world, you’re in luck.
Tinder has announced a new feature for music fans attending festivals this summer. It’s called Festival Mode, and the company created it after noticing a spike in the dating app's usage during festival season. In Festival Mode, users can pin which music festivals they're planning to attend (approximately three weeks ahead of time) on their profiles so fellow guests can locate them at the same event.
The new addition will be available in the U.S. and the U.K., in partnership with AEG and Live Nation, whose portfolios include several music festivals.
"It's no secret that Tinder is a must-have app for singles attending music festivals around the world," said Jenny Campbell, CMO of Tinder. "We consistently see a spike in Tinder use as tens of thousands of music fans come together, so we wanted to create a new experience that makes it easier to connect with other concert-goers before even setting foot on festival grounds."
Those who swipe right at festivals will also be eligible for perks like VIP upgrades and concert merch.
“In an increasingly digitized world, people around the globe are flocking to Live Nation concerts and festivals in droves to experience connection where the emotional intensity is unmatched and the moments are unforgettable,” said Maureen Ford, president of national and festival sales at Live Nation. “Music has a long history of bringing people together, and our partnership with Tinder allows us to bridge the digital and physical worlds to facilitate more meaningful connections between fans in real life.”
