Why Tamron Hall Kept Her Pregnancy Secret — And She Would Have Waited until After Delivery If She Could've
The 48-year-old broadcaster reveals all behind the birth of her son Moses.
Tamron Hall waited until she was 32 weeks pregnant to tell the world she was expecting her first child and that she had gotten married to Steven Greener, a music manager for a company that represents artists like Melissa Etheridge, Brandy, and Cypress Hill.
Now, Tamron reveals she was "terrified" she wouldn't be able to carry her son Moses to term because of her age (48) and other "medical factors," and she was scared to tell people about it in case something happened.
“That’s why I waited. And trust me — if I could’ve gone the whole way to delivery, I would’ve," she told PEOPLE.
“I knew that the clock was not on my side,” she added, and explained she had first gone to a fertility clinic years ago. “When I tried in my 30s, I still felt like I had some time, and the fertility clinic felt like a bright room. In my 40s I saw all the gray: The faces looked gray, the walls were gray, nothing seemed shiny and optimistic.”
Somehow, she found the strength to keep trying in the face of daunting odds.
“Just like with my job search during that time, there were so many frustrations: I’m putting in the work, I’m taking care of my mind and my body and I’m being rejected. I’m thinking, ‘Wait a minute. What have I done wrong here?’ Somehow, like Rocky, I kept getting up.”
Tamron revealed her baby bump in a cute Instagram video soundtracked by the popular kids song "Baby Shark."
"I’ve wanted to share this news for many months and now finally my doctor has said I am in a safe place, at 32 weeks, to share my joy with y'all," she wrote in a second post.
"So, it’s clear a daytime talk show isn’t the only thing I’ve been trying to produce! There have been many tears, but today I embrace the smiles. My husband Steven and I are beyond excited! We're in constant prayer, so if you pray, add us to your list; if you meditate, send calmness our way; and if you believe in luck, we’ll happily take that too. More to share in a few weeks when the baby arrives! Next chapter! Blessed and Grateful."
