Runway Recap: Episode 5

Take a closer look at the contestants' edgy '80s designs, all inspired by singer and fashion icon Cyndi Lauper.

By Jessica Butler

In Episode 5 of Project Runway, the contestants met the one and only Cyndi Lauper — and got the chance to create mini collections inspired by her iconic 1980s style. The designers divided into two teams and used their knowledge of the "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" singer — and her empowering stage presence — to send some vintage-with-a-modern-twist looks down the runway. With mentor Christian Siriano's guidance, all of the contestants let their true colors shine through their individual designs. But how did these '80s-inspired looks fare with host Karlie Kloss and her fellow judges, Nina Garcia, Elaine Welteroth, Brandon Maxwell? Take a look and see for yourself!
