It’s official! Elaine Welteroth and longtime love Jonathan Singletary tied the knot on the stoop of their Brooklyn home on May 10, despite having to cancel their original wedding plans amid the coronavirus pandemic. The beautiful, at-home ceremony was officiated via Zoom and broadcast virtually to friends and family, but there was one detail in particular that we simply couldn’t tear our eyes away from: her stunning wedding dress.

How to Watch

Elaine took to Instagram to share a photo of her look for the big day. As seen in the pic below, the Project Runway judge wore a beautiful gown featuring a lace embroidered top with spaghetti straps and a floor-length pleated skirt. And though it may look like it was ripped straight from the runway, it turns out that the label-less dress is one that Elaine already had in her closet and decided to rewear in the spirit of the intimate occasion.

I hadn’t worn it in over three years,” Elaine told Vogue of her gown. “But it was the first idea that came to mind when I envisioned us getting married on my stoop. And since the mantra we set for our stoop wedding was, ‘Do the best you can with what you have,’ I decided to not overthink it.”

Elaine topped off the gorgeous dress with her mother’s veil, which she says “ended up matching the dress perfectly,” and a pair of custom shoes from Aurora James of Brother Vellies.  She also did her own hair and makeup, with a little virtual help from her longtime friend professional hairstylist, Vernon François.

Between the stunning dress and that wedding day glow, Elaine made for one radiant bride. Congrats to the newlyweds!
