Reza Farahan Admits He Has "Body Dysmorphic Disorder" After 50-Pound Weight Loss
The Shahs of Sunset entrepreneur came clean about how he still struggles with body image, even after losing so much weight.
In 2018, Reza Farahan set out on a mission. Aiming to "get back to to 20-something-year-old Reza," the Shahs of Sunset cast member took up long-distance running and made some considerable changes to his eating habits. Before long, Reza had dropped 40 pounds. Then, in 2019, he took to Instagram with a triumphant announcement: "IT’S OFFICIAL!!! I’m basically willing to do anything, so I can hashtag a bitch lost 50 lbs... AND I'M ALMOST THERE."
Now that he officially can use the hashtag of his dreams, a 50-pounds-lighter Reza has been open about how he maintains his considerable weight loss. When giving BravoTV.com cameras a tour of his refrigerator, the haircare entrepreneur patted his abs as he admitted, "Not much to look at in my refrigerator, but that's how I'm keeping this s--t flat right here."
He also noted the sweets on his countertop and made it clear: "I want to point out that these cakes are decorative, because a bitch lost 50 pounds, and I'm not trying to gain it back."
But even though Reza has embraced a healthier lifestyle, he still struggles with body image. "I've lost 50 pounds, but unfortunately I have body dismorphic disorder," Reza confessed exclusively to BravoTV.com. "I still look in the mirror, and see someone very rotund." Watch the clip above to hear Reza's heartbreaking confession.
