Patricia Altschul Has a Chromotherapy Bathtub & a Toilet Encased in Wicker
The Southern Charm doyenne has an amazing life at home.
We at Home & Design count ourselves among Patricia Altschul’s avid fanbase, so when we heard the Southern Charm matriarch was spilling the tea about her life in her elegant Charleston estate to Town and Country magazine, we dove right in. And just in case you don't have the time to wade through the extensively detailed article, we’ve done it for you, sussing out the juiciest bits. And what did we learn?
Number one: Patricia doesn’t just bathe in any old bathtub. Her tub is notable for having a chromotherapy feature, which floods the water with soothing hues to aid in ultimate relaxation. Patricia attests that this form of color therapy has a positive influence on her physical and mental states — and we believe her!
Number two: Speaking of number two, do you think any old toilet would do for the grande dame of Charleston? Nope. Ms. Altschul’s loo comes outfitted in cane and wicker. And if you didn’t know, you might mistake it for a patio chair and summon Michael for a Mai Tai. We’re talking classy, right?
Number three: If you thought lunch at the Altschul residence would be about grabbing a handful of nuts and a wedge of avocado while desperately trying to stay in Keto mode, well, forget it. Lunch for Patricia is a serious affair complete with hand-painted Anna Weatherly lunch plates, Tiffany silverware, Waterford crystal, Léron linen napkins monogrammed with the family crest, a Mottahedeh centerpiece, and a service buzzer to call Michael when it’s time for seconds of fried chicken, macaroni salad, and whatever else you'd like.
Now that is living in style!
