Austen Kroll Shares an Exciting Update on Trop Hop
The Southern Charm cast member opened up about what’s next for his growing beer business.
As Austen Kroll continues to grow Trop Hop by King’s Calling Brewing Co., he is looking forward to showcasing his major achievements on the upcoming season of Southern Charm.
“I moved production of my beer to [Charleston],” Austen explained at NBCUniversal’s upfront presentation on May 16. “I came out with two new flavors — I came out with a lager and with a wheat beer. I’m fortunate and happy that the whole journey was kind of captured on how I came up with these new beers.”
“I [had] a party at the end of the year for it, to release these beers,” he shared, referencing the Beachy Wheat Ale and Luxury Light Lager that launched at the end of 2021. “I’m fortunate to have a platform to be able to showcase that.”
Austen is continuing to expand his business in major ways. Shep Rose explained that Trop Hop is now “going to different states,” and Austen added, “Expansion has been great, and you’ll be able to see it.”
Back in 2019, Austen shared his aspirations for the business. “The growing success has led me to want to strike while the iron is hot and look for a brick-and-mortar tasting room, a physical address [where] patrons can come taste Trop Hop and other delicious offerings that we will hopefully be brewing,” he said at the time. “The goal is for the King’s Calling portfolio to expand into everything from wheat beers to porters!”
Southern Charm is streaming on Peacock and available on the Bravo app.
