On the Season 7 premiere of Southern Charm, viewers got a look into Madison LeCroy's sweet morning routine with her now 8-year-old, Hudson.

In one particularly adorable moment, the mother-son duo simultaneously got ready for the day, with Madison showering and doing her makeup as Hudson stood on the tips of his toes to blow dry his hair. "Are you guys surprised? He's my child," the hairstylist said of her kid's grooming skills in an interview during the episode. "He likes it as high as it can go."

The quick glimpse into the seamlessly-executed morning — which also included Madison making Hudson’s breakfast and lunch as well as helping him put on his shoes — was an accurate reflection of any given weekday. "My day-to-day routine, especially when school was [in person], was exactly what everyone was able to see," she exclusively told Bravo Insider. “It’s kind of chaotic, but not in the sense [that] he struggles with putting his shoes on and stuff like that. He’s very mature for his age and he makes it very easy for me to want to get up. We're always happy, majority of the time. It’s pretty much a breeze."

However, since the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic began, a typical day for the mother-son duo looks drastically different. "It’s changed a lot in the sense that [normally] I am always on the go and he’s right there with me the majority of the time," she explained. "If it’s in the salon or at errands or going to Patricia [Altschul]’s house or anything like that,  he’s tagging along with me. It’s just been different [now] considering that obviously I want to keep him safe."

Part of keeping him safe means spending plenty of time at home in recent months, which has allowed Madison and Hudson to learn an exciting new skill together. “Being stuck in the house, I try to be creative and we’ve started cooking, which I’m absolutely terrible at,” she admitted with a laugh. “He loves watching that show Nailed It, so he’s been trying to bake a little bit. He’s just kind of like a little helper in the kitchen. He thinks I’m a great cook but I really don’t know what I’m doing.”

While Hudson “doesn’t really love” the buffalo cauliflower Madison makes “‘cause it’s too spicy,” he excitedly digs in to some sweeter dishes like brownies and cookies as well as pancakes and other “breakfast stuff.” After he helps cook, of course.

“He’s all in about cracking the eggs, that’s his favorite,” Madison said. “I trust him so much that I do hand him the mixer and I do take that risk of the cookie batter going all over the house.”

Potential messy mishaps from her sous chef are worth it “just to see the joy on his face,” Madison explained. “It’s something that we can do together and unplug from the iPads and TV and those kind of things. I don’t want to get him all sucked into that. I try to be a more hands on mom as much as I can.”

From getting ready in the morning to cooking together, the two are clearly a team in everything that they do, most recently demonstrated as Madison shared on Instagram that they assembled a new in bed in "47 minutes, to be exact."

As Madison continues to navigate life as a single mom, she is beyond happy to continue on as a dynamic duo with Hudson. “I think I’m done having children, because he just makes everything so much easier and so much better,” she said. “[He] definitely makes me get up and get my sh-t together, so I’m happy every day. So far, so good."
