See the Epic Birthday Gift Kyle Gave Amanda to “Make Up For” His Blunder on Her 30th
Summer House’s Kyle Cooke gave Amanda Batula a very special 31st birthday gift after forgetting a present the year prior.
When the Summer House cast celebrated Amanda Batula’s 30th birthday last year with a ’90s-themed party, the birthday girl was showered with special presents, including a donation in her name to Waldo’s Rescue Pen, through which she and Kyle Cooke have fostered dogs, gifted to her by Luke Gulbranson.
But when it came to her husband’s gift, Kyle unfortunately, came up short. He admitted in the episode that he did not get Amanda anything for her 30th birthday, and he received a lot of flak from his castmates for the blunder.
Now, the Loverboy CEO is making up for his past mistakes. On Monday’s episode, after the cast first surprised Amanda with a bagel breakfast spread for her 31st birthday, Kyle announced he had something else in store.
“Last year it was a big one, it was 30. I think I was just so caught up in the wedding planning…” Kyle began in Monday’s episode before Ciara Miller noted how badly he “dropped the ball.”
“I did wanna do a little something to try and make up for it,” Kyle continued, heading into another room to grab a large rectangular object covered in wrapping paper with “thank you” written across the front.
“He does listen!” Amanda joked before opening her special surprise, which turned out to be a colorful, edgy piece of art that’s perfect for their downtown New York City apartment.
Amanda was definitely pleased with the artwork, giving her beau a hug and a kiss before thanking him for the thoughtful piece.
The couple’s castmates were also impressed, clapping in appreciation of Kyle’s gifting expertise.
“All of a sudden [he] gets married and now he’s a new man!” Lindsay Hubbard quipped.
The new artwork will definitely add a certain pop to the couple’s modern living space, which we were able to snag some detailed glimpses of a few years back.
“Finally sharing some pics of our [apartment],” Kyle captioned an Instagram photo of himself cuddled on the couch with Amanda. “This couch is the best — deep, comfy, basically our favorite spot hah. Will put link in bio. Gotta hand it to my [fiancée]… she has a great modern style.”
Kyle made it easy to emulate the couple’s style by linking to their North Burnet-Gateway 109" L-Shaped Sectional couch, which comes in more than a dozen fabric options and currently retails for $2,499.99 and up on Wayfair.com.
