Bravo’s Top Chef Receives 6 Emmy Nominations (UPDATED)

Among the nominations, Padma Lakshmi received a nod for her work as host. Last Chance Kitchen is also in the running for a 2022 Emmy.

UPDATE (JULY 12, 5:20 P.M.): Padma LakshmiGail Simmons, and Tom Colicchio reacted to Bravo Top Chef's multiple 2022 Emmy nominations in statements to The Daily Dish.

Padma: “I am over the moon for all of us at Top Chef. Receiving this many nominations means the world to us. A big thank you to the Television Academy for recognizing our work. I am beyond happy today.”

The nominations for the 2022 Emmy Awards are officially out, and there’s a lot of love for all things Bravo’s Top Chef (the series’ most recent Season 19 wrapped up in June). On Tuesday, July 12, it was announced that Top Chef is up for five awards, and Last Chance Kitchen is also nominated for an award.

Top Chef is up for Outstanding Competition Program, along with The Amazing Race, Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, Nailed It!, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and The Voice

Top Chef is also up for Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program, Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program, and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured Reality or Competition Program (for “Restaurant Wars”). 

Chefs Get Ready For Restaurant Wars!

Padma is nominated for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program. She is up against the cast of Queer Eye, the cast of Shark Tank, Nicole Byer from Nailed It!, Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman from Making It, and RuPaul from RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Last Chance Kitchen is in the running for Outstanding Short Form Nonfiction or Reality Series (check out the series at the top of this post!).

On Tuesday, it was also announced that Below Deck Mediterranean earned two nominations for the 2022 Emmy Awards: Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program and Outstanding Picture Editing for an Unstructured Reality Program.

The 74th Emmy Awards will air on Monday, September 12, on NBC. Check out the full list of nominees here.
